Why Hospital at Pattika?
Rural areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir lack provision of quality health facilities.
There are many areas, which do not have health coverage by a single hospital in that
vicinity. Pattika and the surrounding areas constitute one of such region which is located in the Muzaffarabad district of A J & K with a sizable population.
It is a highly unprivileged area comprising of approximately half a million population with
most of people living below the poverty line and without access to civic amenities.
In the absence of quality health care, morbidity and mortality rates are very high and are
    continuously on the rising trend.
Women and children are the most unprivileged among the whole population in focus.
People have to go all the way from Pattika to Muzaffarabad for medical facility and then
to Rawalpindi for advanced medical care.
As mostly the people are poor, communications scarce, they can not afford to do so while
for others the long distances become a constraint.
